Hi,

A friend of mine recently bought a EVO8 and the car came with a GEMS ecu, I'm a little confused looking at the tuned map he received with the ecu.

The boost target map is whats bothering me most, Its shows all 00 in the RPM range columns of 2800 to 4000rpm and 80 to 130 of the TP angle rows. any comments about it would be much appreciated.

The bottom of the motor has been built to handle some extra boost with forged internals (Pistons & Rods) and the rest of the motor is pretty much stock including the turbo.

I have had a look at your map.

The Boost Target Map is only used when the option "WG Feedback" is on. In your case it isn't therefore you are only using the Wastegate map.

This looks fine.

The Max boost this is set to run is 1.3bar (19.1psi).

Thanks for your reply, this car has a Apexi AVCR for boost controlling and where does it leave this map ? and guy sets it to 1.6bar at times.

If an external boost controller is used it is unlikely the ECU boost solenoid is connected and all control will be done through the boost controller.
Your ECU essentially only controls the fuel and ignition.
